Dental implants have transformed
the lives of many of our patients.
They could improve yours too.
Looking for a natural looking solution for missing teeth?
Everyday we see patients that have missing teeth. The reasons why vary… trauma, decay, periodontal disease, or even genetics. Regardless of the reason it’s important to replace missing teeth in a timely fashion to prevent other complications such as fractures due to overwork, tooth loss, shifting in surrounding teeth, and gum problems. Implants also help prevent a shift in bite that keeps muscle, TMJ and the whole dental complex healthy.
Our patients request Zirconia bio-compatible implants Zirconia, or ceramic, implants are have been on the market for over 10 years and are proving to be both cosmetically superior and more bio-compatible. No corrosion or oxidation. And less plaque and bacteria adhesion.
Missing a tooth or two?
Consider an implant rather than options such as a bridge or denture. An implant provides you with a fixed and natural feel for missing teeth. Whereas a bridge requires support from a front and back tooth and dentures are usually uncomfortable.

Implant Dentistry FAQ’s
What Are Dental Implants?
A dental implant is used to replace the root of your natural tooth. At U Shine Dental Care we use biocompatible implants made of zirconia. It is made to fit into the jawbone and once it is inserted, an artificial tooth is connected to the implant. The implant helps to keep the replacement tooth in it’s specific position.
Who Can Receive Dental Implants?
The ideal candidate for dental implants will be in fine health, and have the needed amount of jaw bone to support a dental implant. If you don’t have a sufficient amount of bone in your jaw than bone grafting may be an additional option for you.
What Happens During The Procedure?
You will have an initial examination with one of our dentists where they will examine your mouth and take x-rays of your head, jaw, and teeth to determine if dental implants are the best solution for you.
If after examining your x-rays and mouth our dentist decides that dental implants are a feasible option for you then you will schedule your procedure date.
During the initial part of the procedure our dentist will put a dental implant into your jawbone under the gums. The gums will be stitched up and as the gums heal the implant will connect with the bone and attach to the gum. This can take a few months to fully heal.
For the next phase of the procedure our dentist will review the implant and ensure it has successfully healed. Next our dentist will attach what is called an abutment to the implant. The abutment is a post that combines the replacement tooth with the implant.
If you are having more than one dental implant done then our dentist may choose a fixed bridge. This bridge would replace multiple teeth by covering a section of your mouth that is missing teeth.
How Long Will Dental Implants Last?
As long as you maintain proper oral care and dental hygiene habits your dental implants can last as long as a natural tooth would. Our denstist will review how to best care for your new dental implant(s) to ensure you’re using beneficial cleaning techniques.
How Painful Is The Procedure?
Fortunately the level of discomfort during the dental implant procedure is relatively low. A large majority of U Shine Dental’s patients do not even end up taking the pain medication which is prescribed to them at the time of the procedure.
Do I Need To Visit A Specialist For Dental Implants?
Generally you do not need to see a specialist for dental implants. With this being said, implant work does take a high calibre level of knowledge and experience. Placing and restoring implants can be notably more difficult than other reconstructive treatments and therefore not every dentist can provide this service.
We are proud to offer this valuable service to our patients. Our staff and our team of specialists (when needed), will ensure that you get the best results possible.
